Korsi Yoga is offering a mindful empowerment self-defense workshop to introduce basic self-defense, increase awareness and improve confidence.
Join Reg Hunter of Korsi Yoga and Shea McBride, Black Belt in Muay Thai and women's self defense trainer for this special Women's Only self-defense class.
The class will be rapid moving and will focus on the ten most common close proximity attack scenarios. This class will employ leverage, technique and timing so that anyone, regardless of age or athletic ability, can make them work against larger opponents. This class will not focus on striking or kicking.
Participants in this workshop should expect to be introduced to a situation and obtain a basic understanding of tactics to address the most common scenarios so that they can practice on their own, show a friend to extend knowledge, or attend other classes to extend and reinforce their knowledge. Participants will be working in pairs and will be simulating scenarios, working on defenses, including close proximity and defense from the back and on the ground.
You should bring yoga mat and come in yoga attire or shorts because this can be a workout. Bring water and towel. Ignite the fight and channel your inner warrior!
Class size is limited to 24.
All proceeds will go to support a women's shelter. $10 suggested donation.
