NEW TO HOT YOGA?

So, what is hot yoga?

Simply put: yoga, with the heat turned up.

Hot yoga is practiced in a heated room—typically between 95° and 105°F, with moderate humidity. The heat changes the experience of the practice. As your body warms, muscles and connective tissue become more pliable, allowing you to move with greater ease, explore deeper ranges of motion, and build strength in a way that asks you to be fully present.

But the heat isn’t just about flexibility.

It changes your relationship with the practice.

As your body heats up, resistance begins to soften. You breathe more deeply. You sweat. You settle into your body. And somewhere between effort and surrender, something shifts.

We call this the lift.

The heat creates an environment where you can move beyond the places you habitually hold tension—physically and mentally. You learn to stay with discomfort without being consumed by it. You learn to breathe through challenge, quiet the noise, and find stillness in the middle of movement.

And then comes the falling away.

The thoughts you don’t need. The tension you’ve been carrying. The constant mental chatter. The judgments and expectations that can follow you everywhere.

For a little while, there is simply breath, body, heat, and the present moment.

Over time, that presence begins to travel with you beyond the studio. You become more aware of your thoughts without having to believe every one of them. You discover that you can meet discomfort without immediately resisting it—and that sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is let go.

That is the practice.

The lift—and the falling away.

Hot yoga doesn’t have to be your only yoga. Many people move between heated and traditional practices depending on what their body and mind need that day. At Korsi, we offer a range of practices and lineages, giving you the freedom to explore, evolve, and find what moves you.
