Holotropic Breathwork

$175 per 90 minute session

$335 per 180 minute session

Instructor: Ahoo

Holotropic Breathwork is a therapeutic technique using accelerated, deep, and rapid breathing, often accompanied by music, to induce non-ordinary states of consciousness for self-exploration and emotional healing. Developed by Dr. Stanislav Grof, it aims to "move toward wholeness" by releasing "stuck energy" or trauma. Sessions are typically group-based and facilitated, lasting 2–3 hours.

Core Principles

  • "Moving Toward Wholeness": The term "holotropic" comes from the Greek holos (whole) and trepein (to move toward).

  • Inner Healing Intelligence: Practitioners believe the psyche has an innate wisdom that brings the most relevant issues (trauma, joy, or spiritual insights) to the surface for processing.

  • Non-Ordinary States: By breathing rapidly and deeply, participants enter a state similar to a dream or psychedelic trip, which can quiet the "ego" and allow for deep emotional release.
